Muvattupuzha is also blessed by becoming the hometown for famous personalities like Shadkala Govinda Marar, Sree Neelakanda Theertha Pada and Odattil Kesava Menon. Shadkala Govinda Marar is one of the famous carnatic musician. He is unique with his ability to sing in six different geometric speed and thus got the name Shadkala Govinda Marar.
Sree Neelakanda Theertha Pada Swamikal was one of the prominent disciples of Sri Chattambi Swamikal. A great scholar in sanskrit and vedanta, Swamikal was a orator and a poet too. His famous works in sanskrit and malayalam are Acharapadhathi, Devarchapadhathi, Brahmanjali etc.
Muvattupuzha is still enthusiastic in maintaining this rich culture and tradition. A registered art society named MELA (Muvattupuzha Enlightened Lovers of Art) was established in 1968 and is there to retain the cultural and traditional background of Muvattupuzha.
